Operation Torch: Because NYC Needs More Automatic Weapons

Move over Hercules teams, there's new firepower in town! Thanks to some federal funding, mass transit in New York City will now be patrolled by NYPD officers armed with submachine guns and a bomb-sniffing dog named Clipper. First of all, Clipper isn't a very scary name. And second of all, only one bomb-sniffing dog? The grant was over $151 million. Couldn't they get a few more dogs - like, maybe a baker's dozen or something?

Commissioner Kelly swears the transit system is as safe as it's ever been, which maybe isn't the most comforting choice of words, but I'll take what I can get. Let's hope Clipper makes the occasional trip to Queens, because we like safe trains too!
