John Lithgow invokes memories of three generations of family history while tracing his own life as an actor and storyteller.
Jason left me on my own for last night's Culture Corner because, apparently, he hates John Lithgow. I do not, however. So I went to the show and was really impressed. Not just with my seat (though, seriously - check out the awesomeness of that view), but with John Lithgow's performance. He was almost as good as Chazz Palminteri in A Bronx Tale (perhaps a future post as a Culture Corner Rewind), but Chazz was working with more colorful characters so that gave him an edge. However, John Lithgow did move me to tears before he even really got into the meat of the show. It was all very touching and watching him act out the story was just riveting. I'm fascinated by that level of talent.
The downside of sitting this close? John Lithgow kind of "sprays it" instead of "says it." I didn't get hit (thankfully), but it was kind of yucky to watch.
