Mel C. enters the gym elevator, post-workout, wearing her 427th Strength Through Support shirt from her dad's 2008 deployment AND her headphones. Gym douchebag enters right behind her.
GDB: That's some shirt. Is that for someone in your family?
M: (Thinks: Oh good. Talking to strangers before 9:00 AM. My favorite.) Yes. My dad spent a year there.
GDB: Oh wow. That's amazing.
M: Thanks.
GDB: You know, Iraq is the largest producer of oil. Bush and Cheney blah blah blah.
M: (Thinks who said anything about Iraq?) blank stare
GDB: Afghanistan blah blah blah opium blah blah blah
M: (Thinks is this guy for real?) blank stare
GDB: I hate to burst the American bubble, but its all about business.
M: (Thinks he has got to be kidding me) Well, my dad and his unit were training security forces and building orphanages...
GDB: That's the thing. Blah blah blah the businesses and blah blah blah the corporations and blah blah blah.
M: Uh. Yeah. See ya.
Look, clearly, I have some strong and probably biased feelings on the subject. And I get that others might not feel the same. That's fine. So, let's just not discuss it. That's all. We can co-exist and just not talk about it. I generally don't discuss politics with friends or family. But I especially don't want to discuss politics with you if you are a stranger. At the gym. In the elevator. At 8:30 AM. I don't rant at you and you don't rant at me and everyone wins. Inappropriate!

Scenes from a Gym: Keep Your Opinions to Yourself, Please!

Music to My Ears?
I was treated to the musical stylings in the video below on my way home from the 'burbs this weekend. I found it mildly enjoyable. Similar acts can sometimes fill me with instant rage - particularly when I'm commuting to/from work. That time of day is no time for impromptu music on the train.
Also, the video quality kind of sucks. I didn't want to be obvious that I was recording the guy, because then I would have felt compelled to give him money.

It Will be a Miracle If I Survive Today
So, today is proving to be a bit of challenge to me. Exhibit A - the picture below of my thoroughly soaked pants - the result of spilling 20 oz of HOT TEA all over my lap, desk, chair, files, floor, etc. Awesome.
Jason and I Killed It
Just this weekend, Jason and I were saying how much we enjoy one of fall's new TV shows, The Ex List, on CBS. How it's cute and light-hearted and just a nice show to watch.
And now this:
CBS yanks low-rated `The Ex List' from schedule
In other news, be sure to check out Sons of Anarchy - Jamie McShane started his 3-episode run last week. You can catch the replay of last week's episode tonight at 11:00 PM and then new episodes on Wednesday nights at 10:00 PM.

Apparently, I'm Still Full of Hostility
Sorry to continue with the MSN.com horoscopes, but I am just so amused at how hostile they are lately. Here's today's:
It will be hard for you to get control of your thoughts today, dear Pisces. More than likely, your thinking is very haphazard. Your mind is off and running in many different directions. You get one idea that instantly leads to something else, and off you go again. People who can't keep up with your quick mind might be left in the dust, but you don't care. If they can't keep up, that is their problem, not yours.
What is my problem?

Um, I Thought The Gym Last Night Fixed My Rage Issues?
Not according to my MSN.Com horoscope. And we all know these things are totally and completely true.
It appears that today, and for the past several days, you have been building up internal tension which has been denied an outlet. As a result, your fuse is likely to be somewhat short. In fact, dear Pisces, if anyone is unfortunate enough to provoke your anger by criticizing your work, you're liable to explode like a bundle of dynamite. Without doubt, there's a storm brewing! Try to weather it as best you can.
Again, don't say you weren't warned if I unleash a can of whoop-ass on you at some point today.
